What Part of You Are You Still Hiding?

In the summer, I was dancing at a festival surrounded by people in sequins, glitter and energy that felt alive in every cell. And for the first time in a long time, I let myself be fully in it. Not thinking. Not holding back. Just there, present, free.
And the weird thing was – as liberating as it felt – it also made me realise how much of myself I still filter. How often I water myself down to make other people comfortable. How many times I hold back a part of who I am because I’m afraid of being misunderstood, too much, too different.
It hit me that even now, after all the inner work, certifications, years of teaching this stuff… there are still layers of me I hide. Sometimes it’s subtle – not speaking up in a room because I don’t want to come across as intense. Or second-guessing a decision because it might make someone else uncomfortable. And I know I’m not the only one.
We all do it in different ways. We shrink to fit in. We tone ourselves down so we don’t ruffle feathers. We edit our light so we don’t outshine someone else’s. But what it really comes down to is this — we don’t trust that who we truly are will still be loved if we stop performing.
The Fear of Being Seen
For most of us, that fear started early. Being told we were too loud, too sensitive, too ambitious, too emotional. We learned that acceptance often came at the price of authenticity. And so we built versions of ourselves that felt safer to present to the world -the composed one, the strong one, the funny one, the helper, the achiever.
But here’s the thing…
Every time you hide a part of yourself to feel safe, you teach your system that authenticity is dangerous. And that belief doesn’t just stay emotional – it becomes energetic. You start attracting relationships, opportunities and even clients that reflect your filtered self instead of your true self. Which means no matter how much success you create, something will always feel slightly off.
That’s why so many coaches and leaders come to us feeling like they’ve outgrown the identity they built. They’re not broken. They’re just tired of performing. Tired of wearing masks that no longer fit. Ready to be seen for who they actually are, not who they think they ‘should’ be.
The Real Work is Remembering Who You Are
The irony is, the more you stop trying to prove yourself, the more magnetic you become. Because your real power has never lived in the version of you that’s trying to get it right. It’s in the version that already is. The one who shows up without armour, without apology, without needing to explain herself.
That’s what we unlock inside our accredited certification Mind Coding®. We strip away the conditioning that told you to stay small, quiet or careful. You learn to recode your identity so your nervous system feels safe being fully expressed – in business, in relationships, in life. You stop performing authenticity and start embodying it.
So let me ask you this… what part of you are you still hiding? The loud one? The soft one? The one who’s tired of pretending?
Because that version of you – the unfiltered, uncensored, whole you – is the one your next level is waiting for.
Faith and Love,
Dr Donna 🤍
